Yoga

Ananda(Sanskrit), means happiness (bliss).

Ananda is the peace that surpasses all understanding. It lies beyond all thought. It is the state of grace from which we long to return; from which we fell when we began to fill our minds with words.

I noticed over the years that whenever I participated in sports on a high level that a state of happiness appeared afterwards. I ran marathons, completed  Ironman triathlons, fought at an advanced level of thaiboxing and conquered all fear by jumping out of a plane and climbing  Himalayan mountains. This happiness was always there within me and still I learn from this amazing body. We can bring ourselves to the highest level of our desires. The moment you reach this awareness you will come into total bliss.

There is a certain discipline required to reach this point. You have to possess an unlimited desire to attain your goal.

I can assist you with this by guiding you on many levels, beginning with the body. You will learn what the body is and how it can better serve you along your path to Ananda. This wisdom is acquired from knowing yourself by experiencing it first hand from a conscious state of mind.

After the completion of 900 hours of yoga training, I received my International Certification as a yoga instructor  from beginners till advanced level Yoga Pradhyapaka. As your teacher, I’ll guide you along your journey with the practice of asanas (yoga postures) that were developed ages ago to enable the mastery of your body and mind. Even now thousands of years later, millions of yogis still follow this doctrine which in turn allows us to learn and enrich our own knowledge through them. In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali describes yoga as “chitta vritti nirodhah”, which may be translated into the following: Yoga is control of the mind. To understand this completely it’s very important to become conscious of your body and your breath, because out of consciousness comes control.

To summarize, class instruction will consist of learning to perform the asanas with focus on correct postures, breath control exercises (pranayama), relaxation and meditation.

I teach small classes in an energetic environment. I also offer private classes in your home, and personalized retreats.
